I own a MBP 15" 2,2 SR with 4 GB memory (Geforce 8600), latest 10.6.4 installed. At my desk I have connected a 20 inch screen. It is my main display. In the last weeks I noticed that after some time the moving of the windows, scrolling and all expose animations becomes very slow.
If I move the windows to the laptop screen the windows behave in a normal way. If I move them back they are slow and stuttering while moving.
What I tried yet:
I have really no idea what issue could it be. I am not sure if 10.6.4 caused the problems. I have not installed any new software since several weeks. It is really strange. Every dialog and window is pretty slow, also scrolling. Rebooting does sometimes help, also suspend and wake up. But it starts after 20-30 minutes again.

What I tried yet:
- Used the laptop without the external display. After some hours the symptom appeared also on the laptop screen
- Checked the temperatures. The laptop is almost idle when this happens. So the CPU and GPU have 50 - 60 °C.
- Killed all processes that are not necessary, that did not help.
- Tried Windows 7 on the laptop. Everything looks normal. But I have not used that Windows for several hours, so I am not sure.
- Tried clean OS X 10.6.0 on USB hard drive. It looks normal, but I have not used it for several hours, so I am not sure.
