MBP screen brightness vs PB 12"

Should I expect to see an increase in screen brightness on a MBP C2D (matte) vs. a PB 12" 1Ghz?

I had the 12" 1GHz PowerBook.

You'll need sunglasses to deal with the big transition. That 12" PB display is pathetic in today's standards.

What about this "graininess" issue I've been hearing about? Any experience with that?
