Is there a difference in screen brightness between the 13, 15 and 17 mbp? Do they all use the same led panels?

According to notebookjournal.de (german site, i know, but they have very thorough reviews where they even measure screen brightness).

2010 15: 282 cd/m2, 861:1 constrast
2010 17: 282 cd/m2, 741:1 contrast
2009 13: 225 cd/m2, 776:1 contrast (I guess apple is using the same display?)

I think a lot of it depends on the particular panel you end up getting. My friend and I just bought identical i7 high-res anti-glare 15" notebooks, and my screen is easily twice as bright as his. (our panel P/Ns are even the same)

In my past experiences, the 2008/9 unibody 17" screens are the brightest and I'd say the new 15" AG screens are the brightest of the current lineup. Again though.. I think a lot of it depends on the actual panel you end up getting.

Either his screen is broken or yours is.
If his is normal yours is 600 cd/m2..
If yours is normal his is 150 cd/m2..

There are some deviations between screens, but not that much, unless one of the panels are broken

All I can give is anecdotal, but my 2010 i5 normal screen gives me a headache at full brightness and is the brightest laptop screen I have ever seen.
