Since I installed the 10.4.8 update on my macbook pro 15", I'm getting the famous screen whine when my screen is not at full brightness. Thing is, it doesn't whine all the time, in fact, most of the time it doesn't make a sound.
So now I'm wondering if it's software related, or if it's just a coïncidence that I heard it for the first time after having installed the 10.4.8 update. If I remember correctly, the whine was due to an inverter in the screen itself, but, and correct me if I'm wrong here, if it's bad hardware, it should always make the sound... Add to that the fact that I purchased my MBP somewhere around the middle of August, when the problem with the noisy inverters was already known for a while and supposed to be fixed.
Any thoughts on this would be welcome ;-)
Oh yeah, and another thing about the 10.4.8 update. I've been having a lot of problems with airport ever since I bought this computer. Somewhere between 10.4.7 and 10.4.8, apple released an airport update that fixed most of my problems. But since I installed 10.4.8, my problems are back (no automatic reconnecting after sleep etc...). Anyone else noticed this?
