Hi all!
I broke my MBP screen a while ago.
I got a screen from PowerbookMedic.com.
However, when I gave it to a retail store to install it, they said the screen fits fine, but it is shifted 2mms (so from one side, 2mm is behind the cover, from the other side, it is outside of the cover.
I called the website, and got another one, but I have the same problem with it. When I compared the purchased screen with my original broken one, I noticed that the frames don't match (these frames are thicker on one side, and thinner on the other, and the two are the exact opposite!)
Now, on their website, they have
Normal (Matte)
Glossy
Santa Rosa LED Display (Matte)
Santa Rosa LED Display (Glossy)
type of screen. Are they all suppose to have the same frame? I mean could it be that I ordered the wrong one? These 4 come from
http://www.powerbookmedic.com/MacBook-Pro-15-Display-LCD-Screen-p-16893.html

Thanks

Ok, so it seems that I am suppose to have Santa Rosa, because the Powerbookmedic said that the normal vs. santa rosa have different connections, and the santa rosa actually has the right connection for me!
Now, then what the hell is the matter with my computer?!

Thanks

Thanks for the reply.
No, I have the SR model (I bought the MPR 2 months ago), but it does not work! I mean it connects fine and everything, it is just does not fit right!

So what seems to be the problem?! I honestly can't think of anything else!

What is the model number on the LCD? You will need it to be LP154WP2 TL-A1 for a Matte SR LCD, or LP154WP2 TL-A2 for Glossy SR LCD.

I'll check and i'll post here again! Thanks!
But, shouldn't I get LED and not LCD?!

alright, I don't actually have the computer with me right now, but the screen I have purchased has the same module number as the L-thing.

Would you happen to know the other module? I want to call Apple tomorrow and ask them for the module number of my screen. What is the normal LCD module number?!
Thanks

I think you are talking about model number. The model numbers I listed are the model numbers of Apple OEM LCDs. Apple wouldn't tell you the information you are requesting, besides they only sell the display assembly, not just the LCD. The display assembly is a lot more expensive.

But, shouldn't I get LED and not LCD?!

It is an LED backlit LCD, not just called an LED.

Sorry, but I'm confused!
I don't have my laptop, and I would not get it back for another 2 days! And I jsut want to speed up the process!
I bought my laptop on December. It is a MBP Intel 2.2GHz
So what kind of screen should it have come with?

Then why the hell didn't the SR LED Display fit my computer? I mean it fits, but there is a 2mm shift in it!

Awesome! I liked the Pschic power, specially since your name is MagicBoy!

But I did ask the guy, and he was like because you have the wrong screen. However, as notengolegs noted, the modul number for SR LED is LP154WP2 and i checked the screen I bought and it is!, and as you and Apple both said, I need the LED SR!
Plus the guy did actually essemble the screen, and I saw that it did not fit! So it seems like he is telling the truth but yet the screen is also right :~! I really don'y know what the hell is the matter!
