MBP SD card slot

I have two SD cards and it's only read only.

Here's the things i tried:
Reformat it in camera - read only
Put it in 2 different USB card reader - read only
The the switch of the SD card is NOT locked
Tried it on another Mac with Lion - read and write
Used Disk Utility to verity and repair - read only

Try putting the lock switch half way in between the read and the write positions. There was something on one of the apple forums a while back about this. Let me know if it works.

did you also run across the one about pushing on one corner of the sd card, with slight up or down pressure? (actually a serious suggestion)

Or the voodoo witch doctor cure, which is banned in 6 states and the district of columbia...

I'd hazard a guess you have a set of busted SD cards.

And yes I've had two SD cards fail at once.

Have you tried a third card from a different manufacturer?
