Is it possible to install a second INTERNAL hard drive to the Feb/08 15'' Macbook Pro?

Thanks,

possible yes. Can you do it? not really. You need a kit (likely expensive) to install a hard drive in place of the optical drive.

Thanks,

Here is what it looks like inside of a 15" MBP. I took mine apart this weekend and upgraded the hardrive and replaced the left fan. Here is a pic of this

I have thought about doing this but for most people, I believe the cons outweight the pros.

I thought about it too!

I just decided to lug around a bus powered BigLittle Drive instead, the FW800 is capable of more than enough bandwidth a pair of HD's can offer!
Perfect for me, though my battery does seem to die quicker - thanks god for user exchangable batteries.

..Feel sorry for MBA users. :D

What you mean by optical drive is my SuperDrive? If it is, I dont wouldnt replace it with an extra hard drive.

Thanks

Where else do you think you could fit another hard drive? It's not like there's an empty space in the MBP, just waiting for someone to use it for something! To put something in, you gotta take something out!

Judging from his photo, the OP did! The left cooling fan!! - not a very wise decision if he/she doesn't mind me saying.. the left side gets the hottest, the quickest!

You can't fit a HD in the same space as a cooling fan.

yeah..not only did the OP not post photos, but what you just said makes 0 sense. I'm sure on some planet your style is impressive, but your weak link is...this is EARTH.

I was replacing the left fan. It died on me. I didn't remove the fan to put a HD in that spot. I still have 2 fans in my MBP. :D
