I dont know much about orders and what not, but my order has been changed to Prepared for Shipment only 2 days after ordering, same happened to another forum member on MacTalk who has a ETA of today for it to arrive.

How long did it take for most people to get from the initial stage to Prepared for Shipment to arrival?

Hello to all the Australian MacTalk members!

I also ordered a new 15.4" MBP standard config 2.4 on Wednesday and it was shipped on Thursday.

Apple must have a new "batch" of MBP's on hand.

It says it was shipped last night, looking at TNT website for tracking, says it's already Arrived in Perth (from Sydney) 3am this morning.

Are most of you outside of the US? Seems like I can go to any Apple Store in Los Angeles and pickup a MBP. (It helps that there are 4 in like a 20 mile radius)

Mine just shipped, i will get it on monday

We live in Australia, and if you order online you normally get massive delays

The shortage isnt just outside the U.S., its been reported as an international shortage. Some stores inside the states have been wiped out of MBP's. Here in Toronto our 2 Apple stores have sold out of MBP's. Im not sure if they have gotten any in today, but yesterday there werent any.

Aussie posters....

When you get your MBPs can you please post what build week they are... you can do this by looking at the two digits after the first 7 in the serial number of your machine.

ie. W8727xxxxxx would indicate it was built in week 27.

Cheers!

According to the apple invoice mine is : W8727..

It is currently at the Sydney depot, should be leaving for Adelaide tonight hopefully

At a huge suburban mall, they said they were sold out of glossies but not matte, and that theyve both been selling very well.

Another guy said they sell 60 iPhones/day !

how do you know these things? Is this true for US buyers too?

Australian purchase:

Received MBP on Monday - even though they tried to deliver on Friday.

Week 28 - Samsung screen

SHOCKINGLY dark toward the lower part of the screen. Too much for me to handle. I guess this is the "yellow 1/3 problem" but I would describe it more as the bottom half of the screen is alot darker than the top.

Arranged with Apple for a replacement.
