Last night when I did a regular restart of my computer it wouldn't start-up again. First the apple logo screen comes up followed by the loading screen with an apple logo above a loading symbol, after which it just shuts down. This happens when trying to start up OSX but not when starting Windows from the other partition on my HDD. I've tried using disc-utility with the OSX installation disc to do a disk repair but it didn't work, so does anyone have any tips on what I could try doing?

I could try re-installing OSX completely but I don't have a back-up and well.. I guess I could move all my data to the windows partition through windows and then do the reinstall of the OSX-partition, but if there's any way around this that would be great
