MBP Slow/Choppy streaming. Need Help

I need the help of my fellow Apple friends...

On Sundays I'm streaming NFL football games from their website. While there are times when the quality is HD and smooth, there are more times where it lags. Any ideas what I can do to increase the quality? or what information I can provide to examine what could be the problems?

Model: MB991LL/A 2.53GHz/250/2x2G/Geforce 9400M w/256MB of DDR3 SDRAM

Probably not your machine

If this is intermittent then it is probably down to the servers you are streaming from being overloaded by excess traffic, highly likely on a sports game. The same happens with popular program's on BBC iplayer in the uk.
