MBP Sound Card & Audio Processing?

Does anyone know what kind of sound card the MBP's come with? There's no real mention of it on the Apple website and I'm curious if it compares to some of the options one has on the PC side...

I'm a DJ and would be looking to record my sets in .WAV format. Can I do this without purchasing additional software?

Sorry, haven't owned a Mac since 9th grade...got some catching up to do!

Most music folks use a firewire or usb audio interface. I'd suggest this over onboard sound from any type of computer. Check out the audio subforum on this forum.
