also, given that SSD hard drives vary immensely from manufacturer to manufacturer (there was this very good review on arstechnica or barefeats or tomshardware)
I would trust apple to pick the best of the best (within economic reason). Imagine the uproar there would be in the mac community if people got varying levels of performance from their SSDs.
Cheap ram is one thing. if you have bad ram, it crashes but relatively no harm done. bad hard drive? well, there's a reason why IBM Deskstars were called "Deathstars" back in the day
