I've noticed recently that my MBP is starting to get kinda laggy. Text input, menus appearing, logging in, and just overall not as snappy. Also I'm starting to see the rainbow cursor spinning a lot more now.

Any idea what it could be? I don't have any unusual programs and I've repaired disk permissions.

look and see whats running in the background... sometimes it could be you have to many fonts installed.

Interesting that you have the Momentus XT hybrid drive installed and are complaining about this. Didn't I read that a problem with this drive is that it is always trying to spin down, which means lag when trying to start apps or do anything new that isn't saved on the 4GB's of the SSD??? Should still be faster than a 7200rpm drive though, no?

Either that or you have something in the background eating a ton of memory.
