Hi all,

i have an old MBP from late 2007 that I have used regularly until 3 years ago. I try to boot it up on regular basis to keep it updated, until last weekend.

After hitting the power button I get the chime and a white screen ... and that's it.

I reinstalled the OS ( apparently worked just fine) but with the same result after rebooting once the installation has finished. Googling around I tried several other things like resetting pram, etc. Im not even able to get into a save boot or recovery console.

Does anyone have any idea how to diagnose what or where the problem could be ?

Thanks !

Try running Apple hardware test...hold down the D key on boot.

You could also boot from an external drive and see if that works...that would suggest you have a bad hard drive.
