Hello, my MBP has been working great until yesterday, when I tried to plugin a projector into a FireWire port. At that point the interface got incredibly slow and I still haven't been able to fix it. Mission Control and other UI animations are a pain to look at.
I tried resetting the SMC, PRAM, NVRAM and repairing the disk permissions but nothing helped.
The thing is, everything works well and the benchmark results are the same as before (for the processor and the graphic card), it's only the UI that is lagging terribly.
Hope I won't have to reinstall the whole system, it would take me two days to install all the software and set up my preferences.
Any suggestions on what went wrong? Thanks a lot in advance!
P.S. I have an MBP 4,1 / 15" / 2.5GHz C2D / 6GB RAM / NViDIA GeForce 8600 GT 512MB / 128GB SSD and it has been very fast for my needs, until now.
