MBP Superdrive initiates when awakened from sleep

Hi everyone,

My 2.4 SR MBP is checking for an inserted disk in the superdrive when awakened from sleep Can somebody confirm if this is normal? I bought my laptop last week, and really didn't notice this, 'til a few days ago. Thanks!

It is indeed normal. I actually use that sound to find out if it actually wakes up or not as sometimes it won't wake up everytime you lift that lid. Take as a good sign

heck even my ibook G3 did this, the sound is just more noticable on the slot load drives
