My mom's fairly new MBP (2 ghz, core duo) is starting to have some troubles:

1. The superdrive is clicking and making brush-like noises, and can't read very well. It can sometimes see what files are on the disks, but it has trouble actually reading them.

2. The MBP doesn't always go to sleep when it's closed, so it gets very hot when stuck in the bag, or else sucks down the battery so it just shuts off. I've reset the PMU already. All updates are already applied

Any ideas? Thanks.
