mbp takes ages to connect to trackpad & keyboard

few days ago I got the apple trackpad to replace my magic mouse. Since then, after turning my mbp on, it takes about 10 sec for both the keyboard and the trackpad to start working. I'm not sure what's wrong. Maybe it keeps looking for the mouse? I just turned the mouse off - didn't change any settings

any ideas why that might be?
