Anyone else feel that people wouldn't be so paranoid about temperature readings if they didn't have SMC (or some other utility) constantly displaying the temperature in their menu bar?

I have my temps displayed in the Menu Bar and in iStat Pro, but I'm never paranoid or obsessive about it. I don't use SMC fan control or anything else, and my MBP works perfectly well, without me having to do anything.

I just look at my temps in iStat. Other than that I don't really worry about the temperatures. I did have SMC, but decided I never really needed it.

A lot of people are just worried about their machines, but for the most part it's all okay.
