Hey all I have a MBP running 10.4.11 and it's currently stuck booting at the Apple Logo, with the wheel spinning into eternity. I've booted off the install disks ok, repaired permissions and repaired disk, and neither have helped. When repairing the permissions, one file with "boot" and "efi" was repaired (among others) but that one stood out. I'm now repairing again via Target Disk Mode. Anyone have ideas about this? I have not installed any software recently, and this wasn't a kernel panic or anything (at least not the "You Must Restart Your Computer Now" kind). What can I do to fix this? Thanks!
EDIT specs:
10.4.11
2.16GHz Core 2 Duo (Merom)
120GB HD
3GB RAM (1 original)
Also, I have a Core Duo MBP and a 1.33 12" iBook (both Tiger .11) to 'diagnose' with (and at a stretch a 10.5.5 MB).

edit 2:
Verbose mode says "Couldn't alloc class "AppleACPIACAdapter
extension com.apple.driverAppleACPIButtons is not loadable", follows with a variety of other "com.apple" extensions that cannot load, and finishes with "Couldn't alloc class "AppleAHCI" twice.

edit 3:
Running System Profiler shows that 16XB of ram are recognized in Bay 1. While I found this amount idealistic to think about, I'm wondering if there's a larger issue here?

edit 4:
SOLVED: Copied over AppleAHCIPort.kext from System / Library / Extensions on the working MBP. Working fine now.
