Hello. I wish to connect a MBP to an Apple tv, peer-to-peer, wireless. I cannot use my school's network. For showing power points, videos, etc., 720i apple tv 2 fine for my purpose. Thank you in advance:apple:

I don't think there is an easy way to do this. You could have your Macbook Pro act as a Wifi host, but that's going to be hard to maintain.

You could:
- Put up your own wireless router (if allowed)
- Put in your own wired router. You'd have to plug in your computer to the ethernet but that might work better.

You might also just considering plugging your MBP directly into the TV/projector at this point, to be honest.

Will your MBP airplay to the AppleTV without a network? I think the newest ones can use bluetooth.

I'm not sure if you can set the IP addresses manually in both. If you have an airport express handy (or an inexpensive wireless router), you can set up an ad-hoc network; that may be the easiest way.
