MBP to TV

i think you need a mini dvi to hdmi cable. I have an early 08' and i bought a DVI or HDMI from monoprice.com for like $4.

If you checked the pic you will se I dont have HDMI this tv is like 8 years old
 
Have you considered ELGATO? It will allow you to hook it up aaannnnddd record movies and dvd's. They go for about $100 big ones but it's worth it because you can watch tv and record channels.
 
Damm good question, too bad I dont have an answer but if I was a guessing man I would say NO. Take a look at there site it might have info on that. I have el gato and Im very happy with it, People even play wii and other video games so a vcr dvd would be a cinch.
 
WOAH. Long read. It looks more complex then what im looking for. Ill just wait until I might get an hdtv then ill use the cable that works like that.
