MBP unable to burn DVDs?

I am getting errors when I attempt to burn my back-up Snow Leopard .dmg in Toast 10 or Disk Utility. Is my superdrive faulty? Here are my error messages. Thanks

Are you burning to a double-layer disk or a single-layer? When I made a backup of the disk included with my MBP13 I needed a DL disk.

Yup I used to get the same issues - get the optical drive replaced.

Yes it's a Memorex DVD+R DL 8.5GB disc.
