Hello,
I have a 2010 13" MBP, and have just realised that I'm unable to read my Micro SD card when I pop it into a SD card adaptor and attempt to read via the inbuilt SD card slot. It works fine on my XP netbook though.

Has anyone encountered this problem? Is it normal? Is there any way around it?

I hope, you never formatted it when you were using XP. Check the filesystem of your SD Card. Hoping it would not be NTFS or anything. (Even if it is NTFS, MBP must read that even though cannot write.)

With soft cotton just clean your slot. Once it happened to me. I just cleaned it and worked.

All the best.

file system is FAT32, so it should work fine.
as for cleaning, the SD slot reads normal SD cards fine (I tested it), its just the micro SD adaptor thing that seems not to want to work.

Yeah... you have seamless integration with FAT32, it is not at all a problem. May be, this is not a good solution right now, for the purpose sake, you can use a card reader. I am sorry, if you are not satisfied with this solution.
