I bought Apple Cinema Display and a MBP Unibody. I was told that the lid of the MBP must be closed from boot-up so that the display will be transferred to ACD. I did this, I found out that after a while, even with no high cpu load or usage... it become very hot and fan goes up.

The heat goes away when I open the lid... I tried putting a cooler fan below the MBP, didn't help.

Any idea?

Let the computer start up while closed, then after you get to the desktop, open the lid. The internal screen will still stay off, if thats what you desire.

I hope you realize you can use both displays at the same time as well.
