Just a bit ago, I tried to go update my MBP to 15.2 only to find out that it was already on 15.2. Confused, I checked when it was installed. Somehow, it was updated in the middle of the night last night (when I was asleep), even though I have automatic updates turned off. How could this happen? Even stranger, the computer doesn't act like it was ever restarted. When I used it for the first time today, it unlocked with my Apple Watch.

I can't offer anything re the "updated by itself", but I just "manually" updated to 15.2 within the past hour, and I also noticed that [after the update is done] it "returns" you to the desktop, that is, you don't even have to log in again...
