I tried searching on the internet for possible solutions but can't seem to come across any...I have an 07' MBP 15" (specs are in the signature)...and the right side where the firewire 400, 800, and USB ports are located...seem to be acting up...

I have a WD Macbook Office edition hooked up via FW800, and a Maxtor One-Touch hooked up via FW400...and a USB hub with my shuffle, iPhone and iPod hooked up USB...the 800 has completely shut down and is not recognizing anything!!! The 400 port (Maxtor with time machine) will recognize every few tries and now the USB port is not working!!! Any ideas or possible similar situations??? I do remember reading those ports are all connected through one card correct?? Thanks a bunch people!

Take it again, and this time talk to a manager and show them the problem. If it still doesn't go through, go home, call Apple Care and tell them the problem. You might get a replacement out of it if it's still under warranty (that is if you have AppleCare and it hasn't ran out).
