Ok

I got this MBP v 1,1 for my wife. I thought it had a power problem, but after tearing it all apart, I realized that something is happening where something is touching the logic board on the bottom of the logic board.

It restarts instantly when there is pressure on the case/keyboard.

I thought it was the battery originally, but I have noticed that it's essentially acting like it's shorting out when anything "pushes" on the case. Sometimes it's as simple as the keyboard being typed on.

When the top case is removed, the problem doesn't happen when typing on the keyboard. When pushing from the bottom, on the case, it's like it shorts instantly.

Is there something I can put between the logic board and bottom case that will eliminate the logic board from touching anything??? I noticed on old iBooks, there's like a sheet of tin or something in between the logic board and case components...

Anyone have any ideas? Electrical tape maybe? Would it get too hot?

thanks in advance for your help.
