I've just got myself a Draytek 2850 router. One of the main reasons was to be able to VPN in to my home network when I'm out from my MacBook Pro. I mistakenly thought this would be easy to setup but have now realised I know pretty much zero about VPN's.

To make it worse the user manual isn't written in the best English and doesn't explain things properly anyway and their online walk throughs haven't been updated in some time and are for a totally different version of the firmware.

First question is which type to use; PPTP, IPSec or L2TP over IPSec.

And any pointers on actually setting it up (on the Draytek and MBP) would be appreciated. I've tried every combination and nothing seems to be working. Trying to test the connection from my iPhone.

Although their English isn't always the best, I've found Draytek support to be pretty helpful.
