Hi

just one simple question: is the overall built quality of the MBP better than the unibody polycarbonate MB ?

some do say that polycarbonate is really hard and probably more solid than aluminium...

and what about the screen hinge..

thx

They are made in same factory using pretty much same parts... Old plastic MBs' case broke pretty easily but the new unibody is quite tough

they'll be very similar in the fact that knocking into things won't do anything but dropping it will

Check out the Engadget review of the unibody Macbook. They had some issues with the plastic body after only a few days' use. But I don't think that the issues related to overall solidity or hinge quality.

i went to the store to compare them

i will finally go for the MBP again

aluminium seems more durable

moreover, there is the glass to protect the screen, alu is better for dissipating heat, keyboard and sound seem better, etc

the rubber under the MB seemed quite dirty only by lying on the desk at the store
