hey guys,

i never have this problem at home, but when i'm at school my mbp will not automatically connect to the university's network. if i boot up, restart, put it to sleep, or re-open the lid i have to manually click "connect" in the summary tab of "internet connect" and then it will connect. airport automatically picks the network i want and a checkmark even shows up, but it never actually "connects". any suggestions?

i have friends who have apple laptops as well, and they don't ever seem to have trouble.

thanks in advance!

Try System Prefs > Network > Advanced, then the AirPort tab
Is the university network one of your preferred networks? If not, add it.
Alternatively, you could tell your system to remember the networks it has joined in the past.

are you using leopard, because i'm still using tiger and there is nothing that says "advanced" in my network tab. and it is one of my preferred networks already. i checked that earlier. thanks!
