I have a MBP 14, 2011 model. I have an Iphone 4S. Most of the time, I cannot get the MBP to connect with the Iphone via bluetooth so that I can tether.

I have tethering on my account with ATT. I have "personal hotspot" turned on. It will tether via WiFI, although that often involves a reset of at least one of the devices. I also have the iPhone connected with my car which is working without issue.

When I try and connect via Bluetooth, my Iphone is listed under devices, I click on it and I get "The Bluetooth network is unavailable" error.

I have been able to get it to connect in the past, but it always seems to work at random.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this and get it working consistently?
