MBP will not read a particular brand of CD

My MBP just does not read a particular brand of audio CD. Any CD from Regency Media (Australian audio reproduction company) just spins up and gets ejected after about half a minute. All of this happens will the drive makes a noise that I don't normally hear with other CDs but I'm not quite sure how to describe it. Has anybody else had a similar problem?
