MBP wireless is often VERY slowly and cuts off and on a lot

I've googled this and found that a LOT of other people have had this problem. I have an early 09 MBP, the one without the new battery.

and I often find that the wireless internet is very slow to respond sometimes and also stops working completely. even my girlfriends netbook a lot of times gets faster internet.

sometimes, its fine, but more often than not its slow to load pages or respond at all. has anyone else had this problem?

would updating to snow leopard help at all?

It seems like this problem becomes more and more widespread everyday. I am having this issue too. I think that Snow Leopard has the issue worse than Leopard so I would stay away for now. Let Apple figure this thing out and then upgrade.
