Canadian Eh!
I own a Garmin 60CX, What I am wondering is..
Is there software which would allow me to use my laptop with my Garmin, for better road navigation. Something similar to Microsoft Streets and Trips

Your right, but.. I currently have a Garmin 60CX, a handheld.
What I want to know is.. Can I use my handheld, via USB to my Macbook for a better display while driving; Instead of buying a whole new setup.

You can use the Garmin to output position to a computer. Unfortunately there is nothing for OSx that will do this.

However, if you have bootcamp, you could use Streets and Trips or the DeLorme software.

However, I think a 17" mbp would be way overkill for display in a car and would be very distracting for the driver.

There is anothe forum that might be helpful:

Garmin has its own software you guys.

Plus there is a Garmin plugin for web browsers to download and install stuff right to your Garmin from their own site and other sites that might provide stuff like waypoints to destinations.

I use the Garmin plugin for web browsers and it works quite well. I use it to find places that are not in the garmin database and then have their locations downloaded to the gps.
