MBP with GeForce 256mb and 2.4 ghz

I have a later model MacBook which is not too old and all of the sudden today the screen when screwy. I now get blue and yellow glitch marks all over it and I can't get passed the login screen most of the time and if I do the entire desktop screen is completely messed up.

I read someone else had this and it may be the motherboard but has anyone else heard of this problem?

I cannot find ANYTHING on the internet about it

Your GPU might be going bad, check the thousands of threads about the GeForce issues.

The internet is full of info about this on windows machines.Has been for a while too..I'm not sure about Macbook Pros though since I haven't heard anything about the Mac being affected.

Well yeah.. my laptop is still under limited warranty until 2009, does this mean if it is a GPU thing they will actually help me at the apple store or do I have to pay 1,000 flipping dollars for actual apple care and then they will listen to me?

People say that they get treated better if they have Apple Care. Although if you are covered under the limited warranty, you still are eligible for free repairs. Kinda lame if you treat you crappy for not having Apple Care but still are under warranty.
