Hey Guys,

Got a year old MBP here. 15" C2D 2.4GHz.

This morning I was trying to boot up my MBP just like any other day and when I pressed the power button the system made a lil "doo doo" noise but no chime. So I waited for abit, and my function keys seems to work (keyboard dimming, sound control) and keyboard seems to work fine too. Just the display is black and I can't see anything that is going.

I'm abit stumped, I thought it was perhaps a HD problem but I can hear the disks whirring. Any help would be great. :)

Thanks guys.

This sounds like it may be a screen issue. Either your screen has been dimmed all the way or it is faulty. I'd take it to an Apple Store if I could in your situation.
