My roommate is having a boot issue with his year-old MacBook Pro. He came back to it and it was frozen on the screen saver. Upon trying to boot, he gets the gray Apple and little pinwheel, but there's a weird stippling over the Apple logo. Then he just gets the light blue screen of nothingness.
One time he got part of his screen background, also with weird lines through it, and the mouse cursor in the upper left corner, but that was all he could get. Most times, just blue nothingness.
Of course, it's one month out of warranty.
Any ideas what it could be?
