I've tried searching google and the forums and nothing has helped me.

I was using my computer as normal then all of a sudden it wasn't loading web pages, 20 seconds later the beachball pops up then the computer become unresponsive and the chime pops up in the middle of the screen. after a few minutes of nothing i cut the power. Now when I turn it on it loads the apple logo and chimes but just stays on them and doesn't boot.

I've tried resetting the PRAM and the thing where you take out the battery and power and hold the power button for 5 seconds. nothing has worked.

any suggestions.

I booted my leopard disk (I was unable to find my snow leopard disk) and tried to verify disk and then repair disk. both failed.

is it an issue with my HDD

Sounds like it is. Are you inside warranty? Call Apple if you are, if not, grab a new HD and your MBP will live again
