For awhile I have been hooking up my MBP with a smaller monitor at 1400*900 resolution. Recently I put my full 1080p tv as my monitor and bought a bigger one for the living room. The same VGA cable I had been using to connect to my tv at full 1080p will now not work. I have connected to the same tv in the past at the native resolution and suddenly it will not work. The last time I connected the VGA cable to be full 1080p was about 2 months ago so I dont know what went wrong.
Can VGA cables break with age?
(the highest resolution select is 1360*786)
EDIT: just tried with my MacBook Air and it connected full 1080p right away, with the same exact cable.
Whats wrong with my MacBook Pro? It has been able to do 1080p in the past
