Hi guys,

As of lately, our MacBook Pro (2007) refuses to play Audio-CD's. After inserting the disc, it makes the typical "chewing" noise, and 5 seconds later, ejects them again. I've searched the forums and found several threads, although none of them helped solving the issue. I've installed all recent updates (iTunes included). I also tried resetting the PRAM as well as used disk utility to repair discs. Nothing works!

The computer still reads DVD's without problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance! :)

Old Macbooks have this optical reading issues. Mine was too. The only option is using external drive or USB

Thanks for your replies so far. Since my last post I've also tried resetting the SMC, which did not solve the issue either. :/ It's used as our media center computer in the living room, hence an external drive is not really ideal.
