I purchased a new MBP 13" and I am trying to move my music from my old Toshiba Laptop - I burned a dvd from my itunes folder off my old computer and I put the dvd in my MBP and it says it is blank - just that there is not a lot of free space on it (taken up by mp3's it won't read)

Is there a system preference I am missing?

I'm assuming that the dvd contains just raw mp3 files. Did you close the session when you burned it? I know that not closing the dvd session can make the disk not readable on some devices.

No - I actually burned the itunes files themselves - they include the band folders - and music by album - not just raw mp3 - I thought it would be easier to transfer music from one iTunes to another....

Ok. Did you close the DVD session when you burned it? To me that seems like to likeliest cause of your problem.
