I have a 2.66 GHz i7 Macbook Pro from 2010.
My problem is that every time I connect my power to the MBP it will start up automatically - Before I even press the startup button?
If I shut down my MBP with the power connected it will NOT shut down but just restart.

If I shut down my computer and unplug the power, the MBP will shut down perfectly.

Any suggestions?

I am not at a Mac at the moment, but isn't there a power loss setting? Something about turning on when power is returned, during a power loss?

Not that you should have a power loss even with a notebook, but you never know. Outside of that try doing a SMC reset and or a re-install of the OS. If those don't work then take it to Apple (like everyone else said).
