Hi, my old MBP15 mid2012 is still having a high tempeature all the time after applying new thermal paste. Since I have bought Nikon D850 and the mbp is not fast enough to do the photo editing. I am wondering will there have improvement if I sell the old MBP15 mid2012 (16gb ram + 512ssd) and buy a MBP13 mid2014 (i5 8g 256)? I just need to pay around $150 and I can get a retina and faster ssd but downgrade to a 2core i5... thanks

I doubt you will see much of an improvement. What is exactly slowing you down?

There's two core less compare with 15" i7, but it always underclocking during video editing...

What kind of videos are you editing?
Are they 4k?
If so, what application are you using?
