I don't know why but apple remove one of the most intelligent option.
The option to put silence on click of the trackpad it's no longer available , and for me the sound is more annoying than my 2013 mbp.
Anyone knows a command to write on the terminal to deactivate the click sound ?? Please

The Late 2016 MBP's trackpads are "silent" by default. I've got the Magic Trackpad 2 right next to it and that one is louder in silent mode than my MBP.

Furthermore you can download BetterTouchTool and under "Trackpad->FORCE Touchpad" adjust the haptic feedback of your trackpad. You'll find that setting it to silent click is identical to what you already have, while choosing the default click makes the trackpad louder and sound like a previous trackpad with silent mode disabled.

It's absolutely not silent by default. My 2016 is much louder than my silent clicked enabled 2015.

That just means that the new trackpad is overall louder. I can argue the opposite way that the Magic Trackpad 2 is louder in silent mode.

We're not talking about the Magic Trackpad 2 though.

if the 2015 vs 2016 trackpad is different, then I imagine the Magic Trackpad 2 may be different from the 2016 MacBook pros.

Feel free to try out BetterTouchTool and check out the noise of a silent and normal click. As I said, I don't disagree that new trackpad is louder than the 2015 MBP one.

Yes thanks for the tips Ian gonna try, I'll let you know . But they are really stupid to remove it, after 10 years with mac, I start thinking to go to the dark side :( I'm going to give them back the MacBook Pro , To much crap on it yesterday I had issue with my gpu

I thought the noise was just the haptic feedback click, maybe it's the thinner chassis making it more noticeable?

Is there an option to turn off feedback, then you would have no sound
