Hello everyone,
I was hoping some of you MBP users could advise if the fan noise in Windows via boot camp is acceptable.
I have a MacBook Pro 15” 2012 model and when in Windows the fans ramp up to maximum speed and the machine gets very hot. (I believe this was due to boot camp only using the dedicated GPU) This made working in Windows Just impossible. (My last MBP before this was 15” 2009 which did not have this issue)
I use Windows to do 3DS Max work (and maybe some light gaming). I am thinking about getting a new 2017 model and Windows would be used often. Now I know I could buy a dedicated Windows machine but I love the convenience of having both MacOS and Windows in a single machine. The build quality is also second to none which is important.
Could anyone who is using boot camp chime in and let me know if your fan noise and heat is reasonable?
Would love to hear from both 15” and 13” users.
I have been thinking about getting a 13” this time around combined with an external Thunderbolt GPU so I can have ultra portability and when I get home I can plug in and get more power.
Thank you all for your time!
