I'm trying to figure out what I'm missing here, because you usually don't see these kinds of discounts available. But if you look at:
http://www.jr.com/apple/pe/APP_TD10767559/
They seem to have the retina macbook pro with 512GB / 16gb RAM for $2899, while everyone else has it for $2999 or thereabouts. I'm a little reluctant to buy from there after a recent horrible experience, and they have it on backorder, but for $100 off it might be worth it.
Thoughts? Is this a typo?

Keep in mind this is NOT an endorsement of buying through that site, so mods please don't censor this post. I'm just trying to get some advice as to what I might be missing before going for a $3k purchase.

Fry's, MicroCenter, and J&R are somewhat well known for having discounts on Apple's products.

I should probably take my own advice and check out the local Fry's...

J&R is a reputable place from which to buy (as is B&H in NYC, as well).

Thought:
If you're going to be buying AppleCare with the new computer, B&H offers a killer deal: you get AppleCare at 50% of the list price.

Might be worth it to juggle the numbers, either way....
