Hi,

I've just purchased a new MacBook Pro Retina early 2015 13". Using my old miniDP > HDMI cable I was only able to get 4k@30Hz from the MacBook.

My question is. What kind of cable can I use to get 4k@60Hz? Will a miniDP 1.2 > HDMI cable work? Or do I have to get precisely a miniDP 1.2 > DP?

It depends on the inputs on your monitor if you have a display port then use it it gives the best results. It is possible to use a mini display port 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 cable to get it as well but they are rare and I'm not sure how well they work, HDMI 1.4 or earlier is limited to 30 hz by the cable.
