Hello. Im starting to do a programming in college this year, also I like to do some gaming.
Im deciding between hi end imac 27 with i7 and gtx 775 or gtx 680mx (refurbished) + I thinking to buy mba 11 with 8gb ram for typing in college. Next choice is to buy mbpr top end, also I have a 27 inch 1080p external monitor. So the main question is how big difference is between imac and mpbr gpu?

The GTX 775M is a huge jump compared to the GT 750M in the rMBP.

And the GTX 680MX is the best GPU compared to the other two.

I would suggest going for that refurb GTX 680MX model.

sorry for stealing thread, but

The older 680MX is better than the 775M?

Also how much better than the 680MX is the 780MX?

Yes, the older 680MX is better than the 775M.

The 780M, on the other hand, is insignificantly better than the 680MX, and performs worse than the 680MX in overclocking.

This is always brought up as a point, even though I'm sure only .0001% of the entire mac user base actually has any desire to do this to an iMac.

Heck, I'm pretty a very low percentage of the PC user base wants anything to do with overclocking either.
