Hey all, I am new here on MacRumors. I have just purchased a MacBook pro 2019. Is anyone else experiecing a cracking/bending/flexing sound when picking up the Macbook or even when it's sitting on your lap and you slightly move? Every time I pick it up or move with it in my lap it makes this bending/flexing sound. To imagine the sound, imagine you pick up a macbook pro 2019 and try and bending it.

It's not the speakers but it sounds like the shell is moving/cracking every time it's moved slightly.

Thank you

Hello fellow newbie. That doesn't sound normal at all. I've had my 16" for almost six months now and often carry it around. Build quality is excellent, feels great and is rock solid whether carried closed or open. If yours was making a sound since unboxing, you should take it to Apple?

I have the same system and it does not make any creaking or cracking noise when I move it. Does it make the sound when the system is powered off?

Thanks everyone. @jerryk the system still makes the noises with the device powered off so definitely a structual issue. @Ukiyo Evenings thank you. Yeah I callled Apple and they advised tbat it’s the first time they have heard about it. It was really hard to explain. I feel like I have been unlucky and received an imperfect shell. @Poolcrazy no case :)

You're welcome. Hope this gets sorted for you without too much fuss! The 16" is a fine laptop and a joy to use and own.

Yes, mine says the same since I bought it around a year ago now. After a year it still does it, but haven’t really done anything to it. Thinking about calling Apple if it could damage the machine in the long run.
